We went to see Ani in Philadelphia last night.  She is so fucking awesome!!!  I really can't even put it into words, but the crowd was great . . . I guess because she is so political, it's a good feeling knowing that you likely have a ton in common with everyone else there.  I had Mike take a couple pictures on my phone . . . not the greatest.  We were about three rows back.  Not having seats was hard on Rylie and Mike, so Rylie and I are going to try and go again when she performs at a venue that has actual reserved seating -- it's one thing to stand during the music but standing there for an hour and a half before it started was rough on the kid.

I would love to go to one of her shows with someone who actually likes her. Rylie does, but she fell asleep, and Mike doesn't. He only dragged along because it was for my birthday.

She rocks!!!

LOL, I know . . . it was so dark, I had to use whatever's on my computer to brighten it up, and that's how it turned out. Oh well, I had to have a pic of her at her first concert.

Yay! I love Ani! I've been to three of her shows. It's been a long time since I've listened to her though, I bet I've missed out on a lot of new albums, huh? I think the last album I listened to was To The Teeth? Holy shit, I just googled it and that was almost 10 years ago! It really has been a long time!

She did one, and talked about having a child (she said she'd been a sow for a little over a year so I'm guessing she's still nursing -- yay!!) and how happy she is, and how she never used to pick up her guitar when she was happy, but now she does.

Oh yes!!! She was great!!

My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that she just has sooooo much music that there's no way she'd be able to play all my favorites in the span of one concert. She hit on a few of them, though. I am all ready ready to go see her again, but all I have is a rumor that she's going to be back this way over the summer -- it's not posted on her site or on ticketmaster yet.

Have fun!!! I'm sure you'll love it!!

i know she plays in NYC fairly often - the last time being november. She plays central park a lot. Adam also mentioned her playing in Asbury park TBA. This summer we should all go together.

I think she had to postpone Asbury Park because of laryngitis.

I'd love to go with you guys this summer!! When you hear about more local dates, let me know . . . or I'll let you know. :-)
